Blake's Top 5 Christmas Picks

Umpqua UPG Fly Boxes

Umpqua UPG Fly Boxes are a great mid-priced fly box. Not only are there color choices to make locating a particular box easier but with the see-through lids you can locate the flies you need. The medium size is great for general trout fishing, the streamer and flats boxes great for Puget Sound patterns. The Double Wide is great for very large streamers and saltwater patterns.

Renzetti Traveller 2200 Fly Tying Vise

The Renzetti Traveller is a very comfortable vise to tie on. The jaws hold hooks great and the rotary function is invaluable. The vise come either with a pedestal base or C-Clamp and comes with the bobbin rest.

Patagonia Solar Wind Jacket

The Patagonia Nano Puff has been one of Patagonia's hottest selling pieces. So Patagonia took essentially their Nano Puff and added a GoreTex Windstopper Soft Shell and came up with the Solar Wind Jacket. It's not only a comfortable jacket and great for just kicking around Gig Harbor but is also a great technical piece for the river.

C&F Design Fly Drying Wheel

For all you fly tiers that tie Puget Sound baitfish patterns, you need this item. Especially if you are working with epoxy, hard head, or other epoxy substitutes. Instead of spinning flies on your rotary vise waiting for epoxy to dry let this dryer do the work for you while you keep tying! I like tying a dozen flies at a time before doing the epoxy work. Working in batches ensures I don't waste time or epoxy.

Scott A4 Fly Rod

The new Scott A4 is a great mid-priced USA made fly rod. The trout sizes have a great versatile medium action while the heavier weight rods have a faster action suited for saltwater, sink-tips, and big flies.
